Statement of Faith

God

We believe in one God (Deut. 6:4, I Tim. 2:5). God is Spirit (John 4:24; II Cor. 3:17). God is eternal (I Chron. 16:36; Psalms 90:2), creator of all things in six literal consecutive days (Gen. 1:1-31; John 1:3), He is Holy infinitely perfect (Lev. 11:44, 45; I John 3:7; Rev. 4:8-11). God has revealed Himself to us in three different ways as Father (I Cor. 8:6; Eph. 4:4-6), the Son (John 1:1-5, 14; 10:30-33; 20:28; Titus 2:13), and the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:34; II Cor. 3:17; I Pet. 4:14). These three being identical in essence, equal in power and glory, and possessing precisely the same attributes and perfections (Matt. 3:16, 17; 28:19). God’s plan is to call people out from the earth and make them His own (Acts 15:14; Titus 2:14; I Peter 2:10).

The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is God incarnate (in the flesh), the expressed image of God and fully man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit (Lk. 1:35; Col. 1:15), that he would reveal God (Jn. 10:25-39) and redeem sinful man (Ro. 3:24-26; Titus 2:14). This redemption He accomplished by voluntarily giving Himself as the only sinless substitutionary sacrifice on the cross, thereby satisfying God’s righteous judgments against sin (Heb. 10:12). Jesus Christ established a New Covenant in his blood for the forgiveness of sins (Matt. 26:28). After accomplishing that redemption by His bodily resurrection from the grave (Mt. 28:5-6), He ascended to the right hand of His Father where He intercedes on behalf of those who trust in Him (Ro. 8:34; Eph. 2:18).

The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit was present and helped during creation of the worlds and mankind (Gen. 1:2; 1:26). The Holy Spirit glorifies the Son (Jn. 16:14), convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and judgment (Jn. 16:7-11). He regenerates sinners who are spiritually dead (Titus 3:5), He baptizes (or places) all believers into His body (church) (I Cor. 12:12-14). He indwells believers (Romans 8:9), seals the believers until the day of redemption (Eph. 1:13-14), guides us and tells of what is to come (Jn. 16:13), comforts us (Jn. 14:16), helps us in our weakness and intercedes for us (Ro. 8:26-27), sanctified by the Holy Spirit (Ro. 15:16). We believe that the Holy Spirit gives gifts to each member of the body of Christ (I Cor. 12:4-11). We need to be continually led by the Holy Spirit (Eph. 5:18, 4:30). We believe that the gift of speaking in tongues, which was a sign to the nation of Israel, and other sign gifts ceased as the New Testament was completed and its authority was established (I Cor. 13:8; 14:21, 22).

The Holy Scriptures

We believe the Holy Scriptures, including the Old and New Testament to be the verbally inspired Word of God, (II Tim. 3:15-17), will remain forever (Is. 40:8) written by men under the control of God (II Pt. 1:19-21), without error and infallible as originally given by God, and the final authority in faith and life. Contained within the Holy Scriptures, God reveals His will, and His plan for the salvation of mankind (Ro. 1:16).

Satan

We believe in the created angel named Lucifer who became Satan. He was created as a beautiful, wise, and powerful angel of God (Ez. 28:11-19), became full of pride and was cast from Heaven (Is. 14:12-17; Rev. 12:7-9). He is the father of lies (Jn. 8:44). Satan was judged at the cross (Jn. 16:11; Heb. 2:14), he goes before God and accuses the brethren (Rev. 12:10), and will ultimately be cast into the lake of fire, which was prepared for him & his angels (Matt. 25:41), and remain there eternally (Rev. 20:10).

The Condition of Man

We believe Man was created in the image and likeness of God (Gen. 1:26-27), but in Adam’s sin the human race fell (Ro. 5:12; 3:23), inherited a sinful nature, became spiritually dead and alienated from God (Eph. 2:1-3), and is incapable of redeeming his lost condition (Eph. 2:8-9).

Salvation

We believe salvation is the free gift of God’s grace for all mankind through faith only in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross (Acts 4:12; Eph. 2:8, 9). Jesus Christ willingly offered himself on the cross and became the only sacrifice for our sins by taking upon himself the guilt of our sins on his body (Matt. 26:39-44; II Cor. 5:21; Heb. 9:14; 10:11-14; I Pet. 2:24). Only through His blood that was shed on the cross can God’s satisfaction for sin be made (Rom. 3:24-26; Eph. 1:7). Jesus Christ died for all of mankind, but each person only by accepting His gift of salvation will be saved (Matt. 7:13, 14; John 3:16-18, 14:6; II Cor. 5:14, 15).

The Eternal Security and Assurance of the Believer in Christ

We believe those who put their trust in the saving work of Jesus Christ are saved forever (Jn. 10:28-29; I Jn. 5:13). When we trust in the saving work of Jesus Christ on the cross, we are immediately placed, adopted, or grafted into the family of God (Ro. 8:14-17; Ro. 11:17-25). Because of our position in Jesus Christ, we are no longer under condemnation (Ro. 8:1-3). It is their privilege to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation. However, this assurance is not the occasion for sin, for God in His holiness cannot tolerate persistent sin in His children, and in infinite love He corrects them (Ro. 6:1, 2, 15, 16). True faith in Christ is expressed by a fruitful, God pleasing life (Mat. 7:20; Gal. 5:22, 23)

The Church

We believe the true church is comprised of all who have been justified by God’s grace through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. Scripture teaches that Christ is the head of the church and the church is the body or bride (Eph. 1:22, 23; I Cor. 12:12-14, 27; Eph. 5:25-27; Rev. 19:7). We believe the establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament Scriptures (Acts 14:27; 20:17; I Tim. 3:1-13; Heb. 10:25). We believe that local churches of like faith and message, and para church organizations of like faith and message, may gather together for practical instruction in the scriptures, for fellowship with each other, and for corporate witness to the unsaved (Eph. 4:13-16).

Ordinances

We believe in the ordinance of water baptism by immersion, as an outward expression of an inward spiritual decision or change (Rom. 6:1-5; 8:35-38) Water baptism has no bearing on our salvation or filling of the Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19, 20; Acts 2:41, 42; Acts 18:8). We believe that the Lord’s Supper should be taken as often as desired, and at any place, and any time as a way of remembrance and testimony of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. The elements of communion represent the body and blood of the Savior and does not become the actual body and blood of the Savior (Matt. 26:26-28; I Cor. 11:23-26). A person should examine themselves prior to taking communion (I Cor. 11:27-29).

The Comings of The Lord Jesus Christ and future events

We believe in the personal, imminent, pretribulation, and premillennial coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His Church, His Bride. This event is also called the Rapture. At the Rapture, the Christians that had previously passed away, their bodies will be raised from the grave, then the Christians that are alive on the earth will meet Christ in the air (I Thess. 4:13-18). No one, not even the Lord Jesus Christ knows when that day is (Matt. 24:36; I Thess. 1:10). Following the Rapture there will be two periods of 3 ½ years. The first 3 ½ years is known as the Tribulation and the second is known as the Great Tribulation (Matt. 24:4-28). At the end of the Great Tribulation, Jesus Christ will come from Heaven with the Saints to defeat the nations that have come against the nation of Israel (Matt. 24:29-31; Rev. 19:11-21). After the Messiah defeats the nations, Satan will be bound for 1,000 years, and Christ will set up his Millennial Kingdom (Is. 11:6-9; 65:18-25; Rev. 20:1-6). Following the Millennial Kingdom, Satan will be released from the bottomless pit for a short season. He will deceive the nations & surround the saints at Jerusalem. Fire will descend from heaven & consume them. Satan will be thrown into the Lake of Fire (Rev. 20:7-10). After this God will create a new heaven, new earth, and a new Jerusalem (Rev. 21:1-4).

The Eternal State

We believe at death the souls of those who have trusted Christ as their Savior will pass immediately into His presence and there remain in conscious bliss until the resurrection of the body at his coming for the Church, when the soul and body reunited will be with Him forever in glory (I Thess. 4:13-18; II Cor. 5:6-9; Phil. 1:22-23). We believe the souls of the unbelievers after death remain in conscious misery until the final judgment of the great white throne at the close of the millennium, when soul and body reunited shall be cast into the lake of fire, not to be annihilated, but to be separated from God forever in conscious punishment (I Thess. 1:7-9; Rev. 20:11-15).

Marriage

We believe God’s design for marriage and human sexuality is to be a union of one man and one woman united to each other for life (Gen. 1:26-31; 2:7-8, 15-24). We believe this arrangement is God’s plan for all times and is expressed throughout Scripture as a cross-cultural design (Matt. 19:3-9; Mark 10:2-9; Romans 7:2-3; I Cor. 7:1-16). We believe all kinds of sexual activity outside of the marriage bond is considered a sin by God (Gen. 19:5, 13; Ex. 20:14; Lev. 18:1-30; Matt. 5:27-28; I Cor. 5:1, 6:9, 18; Eph. 5:3-5; Col. 3:5; I Thess. 4:1-8; II Tim. 2:22; Heb. 13:4). We believe that any marriage ceremonies performed in any facility owned, leased, or rented by this church will only be those ceremonies sanctioned by God, joining one man with one woman as that gender was determined at birth (Gen. 2:24; I Cor 7:1-16; Eph. 5:22-23).
